At Dartmoor Retrievers, the breeding of your future family member is our priority and passion
Breeding Overview
Dogs selected for Dartmoor’s breeding program are beautifully conformed, intelligent, well-tempered, athletic, and just plain fun to be around. Dartmoor Retrievers are great competitors and hunters; but most importantly, they are bred to be the ideal companion and new member of your family. It brings Paul great pleasure and pride to match clients up with the type of puppy that best suits their needs.
All breeding dogs have:
OFA hip and elbow certification
OFA EIC (exercise-induced collapse) screening
Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) examination (now referred to as Companion Animal Eye Registry (CAER) examination) and clearance by an American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) ophthalmologist
Dartmoor Retrievers breeds all three colors - yellow, black, and chocolate, and produces dogs that are well suited for field, competition, and companionship.
Our puppies are affectionate and have the intelligence and drive to succeed in any situation. We breed a limited number of quality litters each year to ensure that your future puppy receives the individual attention he or she needs. From birth, puppies are handled daily, to ease the transition to becoming part of your family. All puppies leave with their first set of shots and a certificate of health from our veterinarian.
